Understanding Your Dashboard

When you select "Calculate Sustainability" you will be taken to a page containing dashboards providing a breakdown of your seafood sustainability. Your dashboard is automatically updated whenever you add, remove, or edit a seafood product. Elements of your dashboard include:

Table of Seafood Items

Pie Charts: Summary of Ratings by Item Count & Total Volume

Column Charts: Sustainability Ratings by Seafood Species Categories

Line Charts: Changes in Seafood Ratings Over Time

Table of Seafood Items

Sustainable Seafood Calculator Dashboard Table of Seafood Items

The table of seafood items provides a breakdown of the products and information you have entered into the application along with it's associated sustainability rating.

  • Selecting the species name (if highlighted blue) will redirect you to a page on FishChoice.com containing more information about the species you have added.
  • If you see a FishChoice icon in the "Sustainability Summary" column you can select that image and it will redirect you to a correlating "Sustainability Summary" page on FishChoice.com containing all the ratings associated with that species.
  • If you see a hyperlink under the "Support Improvements" column you will be redirected to a page containing information regarding a particular Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) associated with that species.
  • If you see a hyperlink under the "Alternatives" column you will be redirected to a page on FishChoice.com containing better rated products for that seafood product (if applicable). 

 

Pie Charts: Summary of Ratings by Item Count & Total Volume

The pie chart on the left contains a breakdown of your seafood product count by ratings. 

  • If you scroll over a section of your chart a popup will appear with the percent and item count you have in each rating category. 
  • This chart is automatically updated whenever you add, remove, or edit a seafood product.


The pie chart on the right contains a breakdown of your seafood product volume by ratings.

  • If you scroll over a section of your chart a popup will appear with the percent volume by ratings you have in each category. 
  • The chart will only populate if you enter in volume amounts for your seafood products.
  • You can filter this chart by time and can view your volume amounts for the previous week, month, and year.
  • This chart is automatically updated whenever you add, remove, or edit a seafood product volume.

 

Column Charts: Sustainability Ratings by Seafood Species Categories

Sustainable Seafood Calculator Dashboard Column Charts by Category

These four column charts contain a breakdown of your seafood volume amount by species and by Seafood Watch ratings. 

  • There are four column charts for each of the three Seafood Watch rating categories and for seafood that is not rated by current assessments. Items that a user has entered an "unknown" value for will also appear on the charts.
  • Based on your seafood items, the values in the charts are aggregated into seafood categories such as crab, lobster, tuna, etc. that then populate the charts.
  • The column charts will only populate for products you have entered in volume amounts for. 
  • Charts are automatically updated whenever you add, remove, or edit a seafood product volume. 

 

Line Charts: Changes in Seafood Ratings Over Time

The top line chart contains a breakdown of your seafood product's ratings by item count over time. 

  • Users can enter in the number of past weeks they would like to view.
  • This chart is meant to help users track and record changes to their seafood sustainability.
  • Charts are automatically updated whenever you add, remove, or edit a seafood product.
 

The bottom line chart contains a breakdown of your seafood product's ratings by volume over time. 

  • This chart populates when you add volume to your seafood products. It will only populate with products that have an associated volume amount for.
  • Users can enter in the number of past weeks they would like to view.
  • This chart is meant to help users track and record changes to their seafood sustainability by volume.
  • Charts are automatically updated whenever you add, remove, or edit a seafood product.

 

Dashboard Reports

Your dashboard can be printed, downloaded to a CSV file (Table of Seafood Items only), downloaded to a PDF, and emailed at any time.

  • Users can select any of these options by selecting the correlating button under the "Table of Seafood Items" menu.
  • If you chose to download your report it will appear in your computer's downloads folder.
  • You can email your report to anyone by selecting the "Email This Report" button. When you select this option a pop up will appear where you can type in the recipients email address and enter in a message. The report will automatically be sent as an attachment in the email.
