Seafarers Inc. was founded in Miami, Florida in 1999, for the purpose of importing fresh tunas, for distribution in United States of America and Canada. It was not long when Willy Rosell Jr. Seafarers President, developed a very close relationship with owners of long-line vessels, who capture tunas around the world. Seafarer’s reputation escalated to a point of being identified as “The Tuna People”. Their distribution network expanded to 40 states, Eastern Canada and some islands of the Caribbean. After years of successfully importing tunas, Seafarer’s management decided to expand its offering to also include other fresh fish species.Today, Seafarer’s offering also include the same frozen fish species, in many different formats; whole, Loins, Fillet, Steaks, and saku, which are sold under their “Seafarers” and “Biscayne Bay” brands.
