Shedd Aquarium
Since 1930, the Shedd Aquarium has been connecting guests to the aquatic world through its collection of more than 32,500 aquatic animals, award-winning exhibits, leading conservation and research initiatives, and world-class educational programming. Shedd’s long-standing conservation mission inspired the creation of the Right Bite program to make a positive impact on the health of our oceans. Right Bite is a conservation education program that works with consumers, restaurants and distributors to emphasize the importance of sustainable seafood choices. With the right information, people can choose the seafood that is not only good for them, but also good for the environment.
Shedd Aquarium works with Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program to bring the public recommendations for sustainable seafood. Chefs Collaborative
Chefs Collaborative is the leading nonprofit network of chefs that fosters a sustainable food system through advocacy, education, and collaboration with the broader food community. Their main activities include:

Providing chefs with the information and tools necessary to make sustainable purchasing decisions – through workshops, publications, and events

Connecting chefs and sustainable food producers
Together with Blue Ocean Institute, Chefs Collaborative has created Green Chefs, Blue Ocean: A comprehensive, interactive online sustainable seafood training program and resource center.
The program and website are intended for culinary students and chefs who are interested in learning about all aspects of sustainable seafood—including how to implement sustainable seafood on menus and in restaurants. Green Chefs, Blue Ocean equips members of the culinary community to purchase, prepare, and promote sustainable seafood in their kitchens and restaurants.

Aquarium of the Pacific - Seafood for the Future
Seafood for the Future (SFF) is a non-profit seafood advisory and promotion program of the Aquarium of the Pacific. SFF’s mission is simply to ensure that more sustainable seafood is offered in restaurants and markets in Southern California . We're building a network of businesses that are committed to providing better seafood choices from well-managed fisheries or farms.
At the heart of the program are the marketing resources of the Aquarium of the Pacific. Partners at every step of the supply chain have a chance to be featured at our events, festivals, dinners, and in our literature as an incentive for adopting better practices.
Consumers receive a complimentary Aquarium ticket from their server every time they choose a sustainable seafood entrée endorsed by SFF. This incentive allows consumers who may not be interested in environmental issues to become engaged.
The Aquarium of the Pacific is the fourth largest aquarium in the nation with 11,000 animals in more than 50 exhibits and over 1.5 million annual visitors. It was proud to partner with the Pacific Life Foundation to launch Seafood for the Future in 2009.
